Most of my posts for the past year or so have been relating to mechanic's liens and the idiosyncrasies of the mechanic's lien laws. I am going to start mixing it up and try to include general collection matters as well. If there are issues you would like me to address, please feel free to post a comment or drop me an email and I will work on answers to the questions that you find most compelling.

I do not know where you are located. The complaint for lien foreclosure should be filed before the lis pendens.
You are getting started with what will likely be complicated litigation. If you have $180,000 at risk, I would encourage you to meet with an attorney - maybe you can find one that will take it on a contingency. At least take advantage of an initial consultation in your local area.
