The Amount of the Lien Claimed

In Utah, prior to May 3, 2004, the amount of the lien claim was not required as part of the Notice of Lien. However, with the enactment of the alternate security provisions of the mechanic’s lien statute, the amount of the lien claim became necessary to allow the owner of the property to determine the amount of the bond required to bring about the release of the mechanic’s lien.
